The finest interior designers from around the region will showcase their talents by creating one-of-a-kind vignettes that honor the museum’s mission celebrating the history and culture of Boston’s North Shore, and the artifacts of childhood and New England family life. Jenny Johnson, a Marblehead native and NECN TV personality, serves as honorary chairwoman of the 2011 North Shore Design Show, called “Favorite Spaces,” to be held Saturday, May 14 to Saturday, May 22, to benefit the Wenham Museum.
From a faux luncheon in the Roman “Folly” Garden at Castle Hill, Ipswich, to a poppy-inspired studio suite of an up-and-coming clothing designer, to the serene environment of a spa featuring a luxurious soaking tub, soothing music and fragrances, visitors will delight in museum galleries transformed into designers’ “favorite spaces,” bringing history and tradition up to the present day through contemporary interior design.
The week-long event kicks off with a gala preview party on Friday, May 13, from 6:30 to 9:30, where guests will be greeted by the honorary chairwoman and designers, and enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Programs and events are planned during the show. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage will host a meet-the-designers event for area realtors on Thursday, May 19.
Tickets for the preview party are $75 and must be purchased in advance. Tickets to the Show are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
